Aerial Pak - Frequently Asked Questions Where is Aerial Pak available?
Aerial Pak is available to businesses and individuals
domiciled within the United States. Coverage is automatically available
to U.S. policyholders while operating within Canada and Puerto Rico.
What is the typical annual Policyholder Investment for Aerial Pak?
The typical premium for a $500,000 Liability policy and coverage for $10,000 Actual Cash Value aircraft is $1,250 per year.
Are payment plans available?
Depending on the total annual premium, a flexible
payment schedule may be available; otherwise, premium is due in full
prior to policy activation.

Our carrier's is rated A.M. Best A- (Excellent) VII
Is membership in the RCAPA a requirement for coverage?
Yes. Aerial Pak policyholders further agree to
operate all UAV equipment within the guidelines of the RCAPA
organization and the FAA.
What type of aircraft can be insured through the program?
Aircraft intended for aerial photography, with a maximum payload of less than twenty-five (25) lbs.
Are there any exclusions in the Aerial Pak Liability policy about which I should know?
Yes. While the Liability policy is broad, it excludes
coverage for "personal and advertising injury", which limits the policy
to strictly bodily injury or property damage claims-and eliminates
coverage for things like invasion of privacy, copyright infringement,
and false arrest. Hill & Usher can obtain a separate policy for
these exposures when requested.
Who is Hill & Usher and how do they fit into this program?
Hill & Usher is a retail insurance brokerage,
specializing in the photographic and media industries. Today, Hill
& Usher maintains one of the largest insurance programs in the
United States catering specifically to wedding, portrait and commercial
photographers. In 2006, Hill & Usher, along with RCAPA, assembled
Aerial Pak to provide the first national program exclusively for UAV
photographers.
Commercial General Liability Coverage: What does Aerial Pak's Liability policy actually cover?
The General Liability policy will protect the named
insured and its employees for "bodily injury" or "property damage"
claims by the general public. For instance, an Aerial Pak
policyholder's aircraft veers suddenly out of control and injures a
passerby, shatters a window, or worse. General Liability coverage will
pay for an injured party's medical costs or damaged property.
What Liability limits are available in Aerial Pak?
Limits ranging from $500,000 to $6,000,000 for any
occurrence/lawsuit are available. For limits greater than $1,000,000,
an Umbrella policy will be added automatically.
What is the Liability deductible?
The standard deductible is $500 on any property damage claim. There is no deductible for bodily injury claims.
May I name another person or company as an Additional Insured?
Yes. Hill & Usher must issue a Certificate of
Insurance to the Additional Insured before coverage may be granted. The
annual fee is generally $250 for an unlimited number of Additional
Insureds.
Property Coverage: What property coverage is available in Aerial Pak?
Most types of property may be insured under Aerial
Pak, including lightweight remote control aircraft, photographic
equipment, office contents, computers, and buildings.
What is the typical deductible on aircraft coverage?
$500 per occurrence of loss.
Against what types of loss are Aircraft and other property insured?
Aerial Pak offers what is known as a "multi-peril"
coverage form for covered property. Losses like Fire, Lightning, Wind
Damage, Theft, Attempted Theft, Vandalism and Accidental
Damage/Breakage, are covered automatically in the policy. Your
scheduled aircraft and photographic equipment are also protected
against Earthquake and Flood damage. Office contents and computer
coverage, however, are not covered for Earthquake or Flood.
What are some common exclusions in the Aerial Pak property policy?
Nuclear Events, War, Mechanical Breakdown, damage
from Electrical Current, Wear & Tear, Volcanic Eruption, and
Dishonest Acts of the insured. The policy should be carefully reviewed
for more information. We will gladly provide a sample policy.
The descriptions of
coverage provided to you on this website do not alter or replace the
actual policy issued to your firm. For an exact explanation of
coverage, please refer to the policy. In the event of a claim, the
actual policy in force at the time the loss occurred will dictate
coverage and limits.
